Of course, the vintage china cabinet features two pieces. The bottom half of the cabinet has a nice set of four drawers down the center. Also, it has cabinet doors on either side. Up top, the cabinet features three glass doors. Inside, you will find glass shelves (with plate grove) for display. Finally, the cabinet features dimmable lighting which gives it such a pretty warm glow.

Harden Furniture

Certainly, the New York State company, Harden Furniture, has a reputation around the country for quality. Unfortunately, the company closed in 2018, so these types of quality-made solid cherry pieces have an even greater appeal.

We refinished this cabinet in order to restore its beauty. It shows very nicely. That said, there is one center shelf that has a small chip in the back. Please see photos.

A small vintage china cabinet from Harden Furniture can be a desirable and valuable piece of furniture, particularly if it exhibits the craftsmanship and quality for which Harden Furniture is known. Here are some factors to consider when evaluating its value:

Brand and Reputation: Harden Furniture has a reputation for producing high-quality, solid wood furniture. The brand’s name and recognition can positively impact the value of the china cabinet.

Size and Design: Since the china cabinet is small, its size can make it desirable for those with limited space or for collectors seeking petite pieces. The design, including any unique features, carving details, or hardware, can also significantly influence its value.

Materials: Vintage Harden Furniture china cabinets are typically constructed from solid wood, such as cherry, oak, or maple. The quality of the wood used and any decorative elements or veneers can affect the cabinet’s value.

Construction: The quality of construction is essential in determining the value of the china cabinet. Look for signs of expert craftsmanship, such as dovetail joints, sturdy shelves, and solid wood construction.

Condition: The condition of the china cabinet is crucial in determining its value. Look for any signs of wear, damage, or repairs. Cabinets in excellent condition, with minimal scratches, dents, or damage to the finish, will typically fetch higher prices.

Age: Older vintage Harden Furniture pieces may be more valuable than newer ones, particularly if they’re from a sought-after design era or period. However, condition and rarity are often more critical factors than age alone.

Provenance: China cabinets with a documented history, such as being part of a famous collection or associated with a notable previous owner, may carry higher value.

Market Demand: The current demand for vintage Harden Furniture, as well as trends in collecting, can influence its market value. Consider researching recent sales of similar items to gauge market trends and pricing.

To determine the value of your small vintage china cabinet from Harden Furniture, consider consulting with antique dealers, collectors, or appraisers who specialize in vintage furniture. They can provide insights based on the specific details, size, style, condition, and age of your cabinet, as well as current market trends. Additionally, researching recent sales of similar cabinets through auction houses or online marketplaces can help determine its market value.
