Antique Bookcase

Beautiful mahogany antique bookcase with glass doors. This Empire Bookcase has great detail and quality. This phenomenal antique bookcase is Empire Revival in style and dates to circa 1880-1890. It has beautiful glass doors.

Empire Bookcase

This Empire style bookcase has four shelves (one rests on the bottom of the cabinet in the photos). Each shelf is supported on either end of the cabinet by a wooden dowel. The shelves have two plate grooves. Of course, one could store books as well as china in this beautiful cabinet.

The beautiful muntins in the glass doors are in a Gothic Revival Style, with beautiful arches. However, the paw feet, columns, and beautiful frieze of flame mahogany all speak to Empire style. These facets make this antique bookcase quite desirable. It could work in a dining room, library, or even as a foyer piece.

Our restoration team took some time to ensure this antique Empire Bookcase meets your expectations. The piece is sturdy and tight. In addition, it has a lovely finish which does justice to the beautiful mahogany wood. The antique cabinet includes a key. The left door has an upper and lower latch. I would say the only small flaw is a bit of slight warping to one shelf. However, this fact becomes less noticeable once you place things inside of the cabinet.
