Lowboy Dresser

Lowboy dresser in solid mahogany. This Chippendale lowboy has beautiful features and has incredible detail. Although manufactured in around 1930, this reproduction lowboy dresser has many Chippendale period details.

Chippendale Lowboy

This Chippendale lowboy has beautiful ball and claw feet. The Chippendale period of the 18th Century brought many stylish changes to Queen Anne Furniture. The Chippendale lowboy also has a beautiful carved center. Indeed, it features a shell and flower carvings centered between the five drawers. This level of detail continues to the knees of the legs. Of course, we see the same feathered and floral carvings on the legs. This beautiful touch makes this lowboy dresser especially beautiful and desirable.

On either side of the lowboy dresser are fluted corners. We also see that the top of this Chippendale lowboy has a very pretty fluted edge. This extra touch makes this lowboy stand out from its competitors.

The five shallow drawers have brass Chippendale hardware. The hardware is nice and substantial. Thus, it has a nice weight and feel. The drawers have dovetailed construction.

Our restoration team took some time to restore this piece. The mahogany in this restored state is simply marvelous in color and tone. They were able to bring this vintage lowboy dresser back to life with a beautiful new finish. However, there are still a few signs of age to this piece. We see a bit of splitting on the top of this lowboy. Of course, it will not greatly affect the integrity of the piece of furniture. In fact, it simply adds to the character and makes this vintage lowboy look much older than it is! In many ways, the small splits add to the beauty of this piece.

An antique lowboy dresser in its original state found its place in the bedroom. Often, it was a lady’s chest. In today’s modern homes, lowboy dressers look beautiful in a multitude of places in the home. It could be used in the foyer. It also would look quite stunning behind a sofa. Why not use a nightstand chest? Regardless of where you put it, this beautiful vintage dresser is an excellent choice for the historic or traditional home!
