Sligh buffet made by Sligh Furniture Company. This vintage credenza has beautiful details. Of course this vintage buffet by Sligh could be used in many different ways throughout the home. We personally think it would look great in an office.
This vintage credenza has a nice rectangular shape. It has three pull out trays across the top. These mahogany trays can be used to serve. Underneath, many narrow drawers add extra storage space for silverware or other supplies. Additionally, two cabinet doors on the bottom left open to several more pull out drawers. On the right, the vintage credenza once had vertical dividers. Finally, beneath this cabinet area, a concealed drawer has been shaped to look like the scalloped apron! All in all, this vintage credenza can hide away lots of office supplies or dining room linens!
The style of this vintage cabinet is quite attractive. Indeed, it has a beautiful and rich red mahogany finish. Interestingly, the solid mahogany is further decorated with line inlay. This delicate inlay provides a mark of craftsmanship to the Sligh buffet.
In addition, this cabinet features stunning Hepplewhite style hardware. These oval brass pulls are high quality. We polished them to make sure they do justice to this beautiful mahogany buffet.
Refinishing Vintage Furniture
We chose to refinish this vintage credenza by Sligh Furniture. Contrary to popular opinion, refinishing vintage furniture typically raises the value. Thus, our team of refinishers removed the hardware and proceeded to strip the buffet of its old finish. A few coats of deep mahogany color brought the vintage cabinet back to life! Finally, as usual, we used several coats of protective lacquer in a very low sheen to protect the buffet.
These extra steps allow the Sligh buffet’s beauty to really shine. We feel it will be an excellent, durable piece for your home!
