Details: Incredibly beautiful rich finish and color.
Columns topped with spiral pediments on either side.
Swell shape case and drawers.

Condition: Very good antique finish. A deep split on the top (protected by glass top). Some minor chips.

Size: 45″ wide x 23″ deep x 43.5″ tall.

Description

Gorgeous solid mahogany antique swell chest from the Empire period. This beautiful piece has lovely ionic style columns on either side capped with spiral pediments. The case and drawers are made in a beautiful swell shape and the hardware is original.

The flame mahogany of this chest is very beautiful. It has a very rich color and pleasing pattern. The condition of this nearly 200 year old piece is very good but it does have a few signs of age. The top has split in a deep crack, but to preserve this mark we have topped the piece with thick glass. The top of the columns do have some very small flaws. Please see photos.
