Vintage Oil on Canvas
While not old, this vintage oil on canvas no doubt took inspiration from traditional 19th century European oil painters. Of course, it features a dark background and very vibrant bouquet of florals in a porcelain and brass footed vase in the center. To the right are a couple of peaches, demonstrating the artist’s fine brushwork and understanding of textures.
The painting is signed “Watts” in the left corner.
Of course, this still life with fruit and flowers is enhanced by the thick gilded and carved frame. Certainly, it would be beautiful hung in a traditional or historic home.
