Of course, this vintage buffet is special because of the fine woods used to craft the drawer and cabinet fronts. The serpentine front buffet is clad with the finest example of flame mahogany and cross-banding veneers.

These delicately placed veneers give so much beautiful movement to the piece!

Mahogany Duncan Phyfe Style Buffet

The bowed-front design of this mahogany Duncan Phyfe buffet became popular in the 1930s, but carried on until the 1960s. With its deep bow, and cabinetry that extends to the floor, this design provides a lot of practical storage in the dining room.

Although unmarked, we believe this particular model was made by Kaplan Furniture, for their exclusive “Beacon Hill Collection.” The fine veneers, beautiful hardware and quality construction place it in a class above typical Duncan Phyfe reproductions.

We refinished this buffet to bring out the beauty of the wood grain. The hardware shows some patina. Please see photos.
