Chippendale Period Cherry Chest of Drawers

Chippendale Period Cherry Chest of Drawers with Two over Three drawers. This beautiful antique chest has survived two hundred years and has a beautiful look!

The Chest has a warm patina. We believe that the finish may be original to the piece, though polish and wax has surely been added over the years. The chest features lovely scroll feet, common to New England and Pennsylvania chests of the early 1800’s.

The hardware could be original as well. However, the Chippendale style brasses are certainly of the period.

Inside the drawers, we see signs of age, along with a few repairs over the years. Some drawers have small fixes, like spliced drawer sides feathered in to the original drawers. Hand dovetailing appears on all drawers.

A beautiful chest deserves a prominent spot: a foyer, a living room would suit it very well.
