Certainly, this large Vintage Maitland Smith screen has a lovely design. The screen features a very classical design, featuring ruins, columns, sculptures and remnants of early Roman or Greek architecture. Of course, the screen also depicts the encroaching landscape and vivid blue sky, giving it a very rich and verdant scene.
The dividing screen is painted on very heavy board. Each panel is about 34″ wide and 85″ tall and about 1 inch thick.
It appears that the screen was painted by hand. However, there is no artists signature to be found.
