tiger maple colonial table

Vintage Dining Table, Tiger Maple Table

Beautiful Queen Anne tiger maple (also called curly maple) dining table made in a traditional colonial style with two leaves. The two halves of this table separate completely and tilt vertically to allow one to store the table out of the way and against the wall. It has two long maple runners that connect the table, and make inserting the two leaves easier. It also has metal table forks which help keep each section together.

The wood grain on this table is quite impressive. The tiger striped maple runs throughout the table top and the pedestals. This is solid maple; no decorative veneers were used. It would easily and comfortably seat between 8-10 when fully extended. It is thought to have been made by John Buchanan.

***Update: this table has been refinished and restored.
