Item: Vintage Georgian Style Breakfront (two piece) by Kaplan Furniture (Beacon Hill Collection).

Age & Condition: Circa 1930-1940. Refinished and restored. Nice condition. Some patina on the hardware.

Description

Beautiful and impressive vintage breakfront cabinet in exquisite mahogany wood. This beautiful china cabinet has such an elegant look and shows great quality.

Vintage Breakfront Cabinet

Certainly, this vintage breakfront cabinet shows beautifully because of its unique features. Firstly, the china cabinet has a beautiful base of cabinet doors and drawers. Each is decorated with incredible flame mahogany veneers and crossbanding around each drawer.

Additionally, the top half of the cabinet features additional inlaid banding around each door. The glass doors are glazed with beautiful bubble glass, which gives this 1930s cabinet a more refined and “antique” look.

Inside the display area, you will find several wood shelves with a plate rail on three sides of each shelf. Each shelf is adjustable in height.

Finally, the cabinet has a beautiful carved Federal arch on top, and lovely dental molding around the crown.

Inside the top center drawer, you will find a fold-down leather top desk. This added secret secretary desk adds so much charm to the vintage breakfront cabinet.

Kaplan Furniture

Of course, fine furniture maker, Kaplan Furniture created the Beacon Hill Collection, to mimic the beautiful antiques of the Georgian homes in Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston. So, this cabinet certainly echos the finer details of a period Georgian breakfront.

We refinished this cabinet in order to restore the beautiful wood and elegant details of this early 20th century piece.
