Craftique Dining Table
Craftique Furniture crafted this dining table of solid mahogany. Precious old growth trees have produced natural color variations in the mahogany that make it glow. Craftique closed their doors in 2012. Prior to this tough closing, Craftique had been creating fine furniture in Mebane, North Carolina since 1946. This Craftique dining table dates to about 1960 or 1970. Craftique created “authentic reproductions” of Colonial style Furniture. Like most fine furniture makers, they committed to using fine materials and hand planing and joining techniques.
However, this Craftique Furniture table design appears to represent more of an adaptation of colonial design, rather than a true reproduction. It has four legs in each corner and a rounded rectangular top. The legs have a simple tapered style. Furthermore, the legs lack any carving or inlay. This table reflects simple joinery and design of the colonial period. The table also has two legs that support the middle. Thus, the table doesn’t sag or bow when extended.
The table has an excellent width and length for a large dining room. Indeed, it is a full four feet wide (48 inches), leaving plenty of room to set and decorate the table with table runners or vintage china. With all three leaves, it extends to 103.5″. Seating a crowd should not be a problem at this 8 and a half foot long table.
The simplicity of this Craftique furniture table with its long straight legs and sturdy middle support makes it very adaptable. Certainly, it could match with several styles of vintage or contemporary chairs. Decorating with Craftique furniture should be simple. This vintage dining table will blend in with any other reddish brown mahogany or cherry wood furniture.
Heirloom Vintage Furniture
We refinished this Craftique Vintage Table in order to present it to you in beautiful condition. There are no dings or deep scratches that could detract from the beauty of the table. It has been coated with several coats of hard lasting lacquer finish. However, we always recommend to be careful of heat and water with fine furniture wood tables. These two things can do quite a bit to damage and mar the finish. Simply furniture polish by Guardsman, or Beeswax Spray are great for keeping the table looking like new!
