Additionally, these lovely plates also have a vibrant yellow, white and rich gilded border with exquisite design.
Likely, these plates were hand painted. The back is marked with both the manufacturer’s mark “CAULDON England” and the retailers mark where these special plates were sold, Davis Collamore & CO in New York City. Davis Collamore and Co was a very high end importer of fine porcelain from the years of 1820-1887. The firm rivals Tiffany and Co and carried top of the line pieces from Royal Worcester, Coleport, Spode and Haviland.
