Antique Full Length Wall Mirror

This is a beautiful antique full length wall mirror in solid oak. The design and quality of this antique full length mirror make it a beautiful choice for a Victorian home. Of course, any historic craftsman period home could accommodate this stylish mirror as well. With the large columns, this antique pier mirror could also work in a Greek revival home.

Antique Pier Mirror

Beautiful focal point for a hallway, dining room, entryway or even a closet, this early turn of the century oak antique pier mirror is grand without being gaudy. It stands a towering 8 ft tall. Also, it is almost five feet wide. The scale of this antique oak mirror make it suitable for many applications.

Both the design and the wood grain on this antique pier mirror are breathtaking. The focal point are two large, Corinthian style columns which terminate in lovely carved caps. The columns are wrapped in a very vivid and elegant oak veneer. The grain has so much life and movement! Of course, oak furniture has been popular for hundreds of years for its strength and durability. Many special homes in the late 1800’s even have oak moldings and paneling. This antique pier mirror would fit right in such an elegant home.

The mirror glass does show some age. It has a few spots of silvering. Additionally, a few of the side pillars on the columns, which appear to have been repaired at a later date, show some ageing and character.

However, this antique pier mirror has been restored and refinished. It looks quite impressive even in our ten foot high warehouse. We recommend a cleat type hanging system to adhere this piece to a wall. Alternatively, you could allow it to lean against the wall, as long as it has some sort of secure system to stop it from sliding.
