Vintage Chest on Chest
Beautiful vintage chest on chest in solid cherry wood (with oak secondary wood). This beautiful custom made cherry tall chest was made by J. Raymond Smith Furniture out of Shippensburg, PA.
Of course, the tall chest has all of the signs of quality: Thick heavy drawers (with nice joinery, not dovetailed joints), bracket feet and solid brass hardware. Also, the craftsman reinforced the joints with strong nails.
Additionally, the chest comes apart in two pieces, which makes it super convenient to move to a second story or basement level.

Raymond Smith Furniture Company had several decades of success with their cabinet-made furniture pieces. The company produced high quality cherry, walnut and maple furniture out of their Shippensburg, PA workshops. Locally, their pieces were known for their heirloom quality and beauty.
The chest shows good vintage condition, with some light fading to the top drawer.
